This 8-week course (one evening a week) is based on the mindfulness course developed by Jon Kabat Zinn and adds elements from the new development in Mindfulness, namely Self -compassion.
The use of mindfulness in daily life helps you to deal with problems in a calm, wise and loving way. Unconscious reactions, habits and patterns are recognized, and giving us a choice: how do we deal with a particular situation and why?
Kristin Neff has built on the foundation of Mindfulness. With the help of meditation and exercises you will learn to cultivate self-compassion. You will be able to take better care of yourself, to accept certain situations more easily and cope better with difficult emotions.

This mini-workbook stimulates you to take the first steps in the world of mindfulness and self-compassion and helps you to bring it in to practice.
The approach of Beyond Mindfulness is primarily based on the insights and approach of the founders of mindfulness and the approach is a mix between traditional Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) by Jon Kabat Zinn and the Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) by Mark Williams, Zindel Segal and John Teasdale.
The second part of the mindfulness course combines mindfulness with self-compassion (Kristin Neff). This combination consists of various meditations, in-depth exercises, inspiring videos, lessons and group discussions. The course is meant for everyone with little to no experience with mindfulness.
With Beyond Mindfulness I aim to make the wisdom of the traditional movements (i.e. Buddhism) accessible to a larger group, in order to let people experience long-term inner peace, joy and happiness. In my personal quest, due to my curious nature, I have walked different paths. I studied in Wales, I lived and worked in Tanzania and worked both in business and the mental health.
I have the ambition to make a genuine contribution so that people can act less from fear and more from love and a connection to life. With my experiences as a meditation practitioner and as a professional trainer-coach I can offer a unique combination of activities.
